The January cow sale consisted of 4 breeding bulls, 317 pairs and 131 bred
cows.  Top selling bulls brought $2300-$2350.  Majority of the pairs sold as
singles or groups of 2 and traded from $2150 and down.  3rd period bred
cows topped at $2350 with the most attractive end of these selling
from $1800 to $2025.  The balance of these brought from $1700 and down.
2nd period cows were fewer in numbers and sold from $1900 and down.
496 slaughter cattle including 270 fed steers and heifers that sold on an
active market.  Top was 181.50 on a package of fancy home-raised heifers.
Slaughter cows traded uneven but mostly 3.00 higher with the most advance
on the breakers and boners.  Bulls also sold mostly 3.00 higher.
