Tuesday, January 3, 2023 - Packer Day/Breeding Stock Sale
A nice crowd was on
hand for tonight’s January cow sale that offered 3 breeding bulls,
40 pairs, 45 bred heifers with the balance being mostly 2nd
& 3rd period cows from multiple sources.
A consignment of registered Angus cows topped at 1950.00
with the balance selling from $1500 to $1925.
Another consignment of mostly 6 year olds topped out at 2,000.00 with the
balance trading from 1575 to 1850.00
Another consignment of mostly 2nd period calvers
topped out at 1825.00. The rest of
the spring calvers from multiple consignors traded from 1400.00 to 1625.00 on
the most appealing end with the balance selling at $1350.00 and down.
45 bred heifers topped at $2300.00 on a package of fancy
Angus heifers due in march. 40 pairs
topped at $2150 but the majority of these were older or thinner cows with their
fall babies at their side and sold form $1700 and down.
3 breeding bulls average $1935.00.
our next bred sale will be January 21st and will feature 100
bred heifers from Kocher’s and a quality dispersion of 100 cows from a local
farmer.
