| The last cow sale of the season (until fall) consisted of 15 breeding bulls, | ||||
| 22 pairs and 146 bred cows. | ||||
| Top bull brought $3600.00 with the top end of these selling from $2300 to $3050 | ||||
| The balance sold from $1800 and down. | ||||
| The top pair brought $2500 with the most of the rest selling from $2050 - | ||||
| 2275.00 | ||||
| The balance of the sale was bred cows with calving dates from June to into | ||||
| the fall. A couple of packages of true fall calvers sold from $1610 to | ||||
| $1650. Summer calvers have increased in price because of the higher | ||||
| slaughter cow prices. $1800 was the top on these summer calvers. The dry | ||||
| weather and shorter hay crop we are experiencing right now has caused | ||||
| many to hold back on purchasing more cows. | ||||
| 591 slaughter cattle including 273 fed steers and heifers that sold on an | ||||
| active market! Top was 199.00 which is a new all time high at Fairview | ||||
| Sale Barn! | ||||
| Slaughter cows continue to sell with very good demand but not quite the | ||||
| extreme prices of two weeks ago! Cull bulls traded steady. | ||||
