Tuesday, March 1, 2022 - Packer Day-Breeding Stock
The March bred cow sale (248 head) featured a select group of mostly young cows with calves at side and 11 yearling bulls all from Dan Tolley. The top group brought $3100 with the rest from $2600 to $3000. Top bull was a Tahoe son marked at $4100.
The rest of the sale was made up of mostly 3rd period bred cows sold in small groups. Top end sold from $1600 to $1850 with the rest $1550 and down. Several groups of SS to aged cows traded mostly $950 to $1225.
2nd period cows were slower to find new homes from $1550 and down.
437 slaughter cattle including 174 fed steers and heifers that sold with good demand on a 154.00 top. Overall not as many high yielding cattle in today's offerings the market traded mostly steady to 1.00 lower!
Slaughter cow & bull prices continue to push higher with a large number of cows at 80.00 or better. Compared to last week cows traded 3.00 higher.
