Tuesday, June 7, 2022 - Packer Day & Breeding Stock Sale

The June cow sale featured a nice group of fall calving cows and were well
received by several buyers looking for quality to add to their herds.  The
top end of a group of Simme-X cows sold from $2,000 to $2275!  Other packages
of 2nd period cows ranged mostly from $1400 to $1875 with older, plainer
2nd periods traded from $1375 and down.
A few 3rd period cows were sold but most were older cows with summer calving
dates.
The pairs that sold ranged mostly from $1550 to $2150 with an outstanding
registered Simme pair toppping the sale at $3150.
A pair of Simme/Angus bulls topped the bull consignments at $3050 each.

494 slaughter cattle including 240 fed steers and heifers that sold with moderate demand on a 149.50 top!  The market traded steady to 2.00  lower with mot of the decline on mixed grading cattle or steers and heifers weighing under 1300 lbs.  Cattle with wt. & finish sold mostly steady.
