Saturday, February 2, 2021 - Bred Cow Sale
The February bred cow sale consisted of 275 bred cows, 26 pair and 10 test bulls. There were 4 dispersions with the rest been mostly herd reductions or aged cows that were no longer needed!
The breeding bulls topped at $1760 on a pair of Angus bulls. The pairs had mostly very young calves at side and topped at $1525.
3rd period cows topped at $1900 on a group of young cows to start calving in late February! The better end of these younger cows traded mostly from $1400 to $1700. Another cut of these sold from $1100-$1400 with the plainer end selling at $1100 and down.
The 2nd period cows weren't as popular with the top end bringing $1100 to $1675. The rest traded homes at $1100 and down.
Tuesday, February 2, 2021 - Packer Day
495 slaughter cattle including 230 fed steers and heifers sold with very good demand. compared to 2 weeks ago, the fed market was 6.00-7.00 higher with the quality the best its been in 3 weeks.
Slaughter cow sold steady to 2.00 higher and bulls mostly 3.00 higher.
