206 cows sold in the Tuesday evening sale to a large crowd. There were several very good replacement types offered, but not many high dollar fancy groups. A few dispersions sold, but most were moved for various reasons including making room for calving heifers to replace them. Many of the cows no longer fit the sellers program and they were sold. Buyers were aggressive to a point as we are in a very unstable cow market.
11 cow/calf pairs sold. The majority of them were thin older shorthorns and brought from $975-$1075.
18 bred heifers were offered. They weighed from1053#-1275#, were in the 3rd stage, and brought from $1200-$1375.
36 head of 3-4 year olds sold with the top end bringing from $1450-$1600. Average were $1100-$1350, and the rest $1000/down. Most were 3rd stage, but 2nd stagers were just as popular.
30 head of 5-6 year olds sold from $1275-$1475 for the best, $1075-$1175 for average, and the rest $975/down.
21 had of 7-8 year olds brought $1050-$1175 for the top end, average were $900-$1000, and the others $850/down.
54 head of 9 years to short and solid marketed from $900-$1055 for the best, average were $750-$875, and the rest $700/down. There were some very useful short term cows in this age group.
36 aged and broken mouth brought $900-$1075 with average 700-$875 and the rest about slaughter price.
413 slaughter cattle including 172 fed steers & heifers which traded 2.00 lower with moderate demand Overall quality not as attractive as last weeks offering!@
Cull cows sold steady to 2.00 lower with few breaker cows in the offering. Big majority were average to low dressing cows in all 3 categories.
