Thursday, October 4, 2018  Feeder Special

1513 cattle sold and featured 12 full pot loads of steers and heifers.  The harvest held the crowd down, but those in attendance were aggressive and everything sold well in spite of the outlook from the Merc down the road.

Prices were greatly affected by consignments that were not weaned, short weaned, nor not vaccinated.  We are in the riskiest time of year for moving cattle when combining muddy conditions, dust, or big temperatures swings.  Respiratory diseases thrive in these conditions and cattle consignments with any of the above short comings are more prone to be affected.  Therefore it is harder to find buyers for them and they bring a lot less.
