Thursday, December 20, 2018 - Special Feeder Sale
As 2018 comes to an end, the cattle market has never
shown more disparity. The difference is significant. Far out in front in the
price range are the weaned, vaccinated, and top quality cattle. Next in line
are the un-weaned and untouched cattle at a significant drop in price
regardless of quality. At the bottom come the lower quality groups and some
of them bring very, very little. It pays big time to buy good bulls,
vaccinate your calves, cut your bulls, and don’t get them overly fleshy. We
say this because we work with buyers every day and know what they want. To
get top dollar, proper management is vital. It puts money in the pocket well
above any and all vet costs, bull prices and time spent to doing it.
632 cattle sold today. Representative prices on a
run of very mixed quality with most under 700#:

There were too few cattle above 700# for a market
test.
