Tuesday, March 7, 2017 - Packer Day-Bred Cow/Pairs

With Spring grass just around the corner, the seats were full for tonight's bred cow & pair sale.  50 pairs averaged $1987.50 with a top of $2425.  Bred cows topped at $2150.  Most of the younger cows into he 3rd period with eye appeal sold in excess of $1700.  Middle aged cows with size and eye appeal sold form $1500 to $2000 and older cows or cows with marginal bags or smaller in size sold from $800 to $1500.

Next cow sale will be April 4th and will feature bulls from Johnson Farms and Kiesewetter/Kress Angus!

Slaughter steers and heifers sold 2.00 to 3.00 higher on a top of 131.50.  Today's top was the highest since early last summer!

Cow & bull trade was very active as several cows topped the 70.00 mark and bulls topped at 94.50.
