328 bred cows went before a well-attended near capacity crowd with a lot of individuals purchasing cows. Buyers were very price and quality conscious. With cull cow and calf prices depressed compared to the same time a year ago, bred cow prices have come down accordingly. No longer can we figure on selling a $1200 calf and getting a thousand bucks for the cow at slaughter time.

The listing below, as determined by the buyers, is as follows: #1’s are the best in each age range—“2’s are the next best--#3’s are the bottom end which contained the lowest quality, bad bags, thinner and/or smaller types, and above all, those with bad attitudes (and there were a lot of them). 47% of the run were old cows, 17% were middle aged, 29% were young cows, 5% were bred heifers and 2% were pairs.
