Thurs. - March
24, 2016 - Special Feeder Sale
1855 cattle
sold today at Fairview sale barn. Even though the report this week was
bearish causing a big dip at the Merc, the approaching grass season kept the
market from falling out of bed. Anything with grazing potential sold very
well. Fleshy and bigger cattle showed some effect of the board drop and
brought lower prices. The futures market for fed cattle is anything but rosy
all the way through the spring months.

April 5th,
Tuesday, is the next breeding stock sale and features the annual Johnson
Brothers (Double J Farms) bull sale with 17 top bulls offered. Also there
will be over 100 cow/calf pairs sold. Most will be 1st
calf heifers bred and calved out by reputable producers who do things right
using top bulls on heifers with very good genetics. A real opportunity here!
