head sold with a full house in attendance on a perfect day
for a cattle auction. The quality offered was very good with
prices reflecting this. Featured was the dispersion of large
reputation cow herd. Also, some fancy heifers with calves at
side sold along with a group of bred heifers.
The
17 heifers with calves were very popular. They sold from
$2400 to a top of $2900 averaging $2642 per pair. An 8-head
consignment of black bred heifers brought $1900. From the
dispersion: 50 bred heifers averaged $2011 with a $2125 top,
23 head of 3 and 4 year olds averaged $2384 with a $2500
top, 58 head of 5 & 6 year olds averaged $1990 and had a top
of $2200, and the balance consisted of a few 7’s ranging up
to aged and averaged $1300. The rest of the consignments in
the run brought from $1200 to $2025.
