Tuesday, November 3, 2015 - Packer Day/Bred Cow Sale

The first bred cow special of the fall consisted of 42 pairs and 20 bred cows.  Sale feature was the Registered Angus dispersion from Wyatt Green.  28 lots brought $2400 and up with a top of $4100.  2nd high seller brought $4,000.  The balance of the sale consisted of mostly bred cows from a multitude of consignments.

Top price on the commercial pair was $2950.  The average was $2152 with the bulk selling from $2,000 to $2,800.

The bred cows were mostly 2nd stage with a few in the 3rd stage and several still in 1st stage.  Most were aged from 5 years to short & solid!

Couple packages of 2nd stage bred heifers topped @ $1850.  Top end of the bred cows sold sold from $1800 to $2300.  Middle range sold from 41500 to $1800 with the balance of the mostly older or small frame cows selling at $1450 and down!

Today's slaughter sale consisted of 300 plus steers & heifers and 200+ cull cows and bulls.  Slaughter steers topped at 136.75 and the heifer top was 137.50, basically steady with last week's market.

Cull cows sold steady and bulls sold 2.00 to 3.00 lower.
