391 head. The market has a softer undertone when compared to a month ago, but prices are still very good. Plenty of buyers were on hand for today's offering and they were willing to bid. Numbers from now on are going to be down from a year ago as the diminished cow herd is reflecting itself in fewer available calves. There will be a spurt in prices as grass time approaches, but bigger cattle are at mercy of board trading.
