Tuesday December 2, 2014 Fat Cattle Sale & Bred Cow Special

Market Report for 12-2-14 Cow Sale: 303 bred cows sold in this sale. The overall average for all, (this includes everything sold—the very worst to the very best) was $2626.16 with the lowest prices for some quite small, others of poor quality and a few thin old ones at $1550.00, and the highest prices at $4600.00 at the top. Quality for most of the offering was very good and over 90% were black hided bred to black bulls.

Examples of some of the top selling consignments were:

               20 bred heifers—1041#--average price: $2935.00 with a $3200.00 top

               80 head including 33 bred heifers and 47-3yr olds averaged $3025.00 with a $3300 top

               30 registered Angus averaged $3410.00 with a $4600.00 top

               15 head dispersion of commercial cows averaged $2525.00 with a $2900.00 top

A big run of all lasses at Fairview Sale Barn today.  Slaughter steers & heifers sold mostly 3.00 lower with a top of 169.50.

Most cull cows were steady/weak with last week.  Lighter shellier cows sold 5 to 6 lower!
