A large crowd gathered for tonight's bred cow & pair sale along with a few
breeding bulls.  The sale featured a fancy set of 40 bred heifers along with
a few dispersions of running age cows that were well received.
Several groups of these bred heifers left the ring from $2100 to $2950.  A
consignment of fancy 4 & 5 year old Angus cows brought from $2350 to
$2650.  Several other packages of 2nd and 3rd period cows from various
consignors traded mostly from $1800 to $2500.  The next cut of these
sold from $1350 to $1750 with the balance selling at $1325 and down.
Obviously the cows with eye appeal and in moderate flesh proved to be the
most popular.
429 slaughter cattle including 124 fed steers and heifers that sold with
moderate demand on lower trending market.  Top today was 176.50 compared
to 183.00 last week.
Slaughter cows traded 3.00 lower but bulls sold mostly steady.
